Cee Lo Green returned to court in Los Angeles today regarding his felony charge last month of furnishing ecstasy.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney, which least month cleared Green of sexual assault charges, said today that there is more to the story, possibly going back to the sexual assault charge. A judge set a preliminary hearing for January.
Green is being sued by a woman, 33, who claims he slipped ecstasy into her drink after meeting him in July 2012 at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles, where the Atlanta native spends much of his time. She alleged that the next thing she remembered was waking up naked in a bedroom at her hotel with the singer in the room.
The woman also claimed to have recordings of Green apologizing and making reference to MDMA, the drug commonly known as “ecstasy.” The D.A. reportedly used the recordings as a confession to drug use. At last month’s hearing, Green entered a “not guilty” plea and posted a $30,000 bond.
Green, who entered the Los Angeles County courthouse on Wednesday in a black Suburban, clad in black with a hoodie flipped up and shades on, didn’t appear concerned when he left, according to TMZ.
Green has been visible as usual on “The Voice” and next year, TBS will debut his reality show, “The Cee Lo Life.”
In September, the soul man sat down for a chat with Little Richard at the W Atlanta Downtown for an event produced by The Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter.
